UFC has inked undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s cousin Umar Nurmagomedov is now a member of the UFC roster. GFC announced on Friday that its bantamweight champion Umar Nurmagomedov has signed a contract with the biggest mixed martial arts organization in the world.

His first fight with the premier promotion will be April 18, 2020 in Brooklyn, New York, United States at UFC 249. No opponent has been announced for the Dagestani fighter’s UFC debut.

The 23-year-old Umar Nurmagomedov has been competing as a pro since December 16, 2016. He will make his UFC debut sporting a 12-0-0 record. 6 of those wins (50%) have come via stoppage (1 by knockout and 5 by submission ). He had four fights last year and was last seen at GFC 20 in November 2019, where he earned a first-round rear-naked choke to put away Braian Gonzalez in the main event of the evening.

UFC 249 will be headlined by a lightweight championship bout between the reigning champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former interim champion Tony Ferguson.
