Josh Emmett withdraws from UFC Raleigh

Ranked No. 10 in the UFC featherweight rankings Josh Emmett will no longer be able to compete at UFC Raleigh. Just 18 days from the even, he has had to pull out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury, according to MMA Junkie’s sources.

The American was slated to fight Arnold Allen on January 25, 2019. It’s unknown at this time if the UFC will attempt to find a short-notice replacement for Emmett, or if the fight will be rescheduled at a later date.

The 34-year-old Josh Emmett made his professional MMA debut on October 8, 2011. Since then, the American fighter has made 17 appearances in the cage resulting in 15 wins, 2 defeats and 0 draws (6-2-0 UFC).

He was last in action almost 6 months ago when he scored a 1-round TKO win over Mirsad Bektic (Bosnia and Herzegovina) at UFC Fight Night 155 – De Randamie vs. Ladd. With that win the fighter’s winning streak grew to two bouts.

UFC Raleigh is set to take place on January 25, 2019 in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The event will be headlined by a heavyweight showdown between ex-champion Junior dos Santos and Curtis Blaydes.
