Currently ranked at #4 in the UFC standings at featherweight, Jeremy Stephens is returning to the octagon at UFC 248 on March 7, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. He is expected to clash with ranked No. 4 Calvin Kattar, sources confirmed to MMA Junkie.
Both fighters have verbally agreed to the bout, although their contracts have yet to be signed.
Currently on a three-fight losing streak, Jeremy Stephens will look to return to the winning column. In his last two fights, the 33-year-old American lost via unanimous decision to Russian Zabit Magomedsharipov in March 2019 and most recently, on October 18, 2019, to Yair Rodriguez (Mexico). The Des Moines, Iowa native holds an overall record of 28-17-0 (Wins-Losses-Draws) in his professional career, including a 15-16-0 mark in the UFC.
The 31-year-old Calvin Kattar, meanwhile, is 20-4-0 as a pro (4-2-0 UFC). He is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Zabit Magomedsharipov in the UFC Fight Night 163’s main event in November 2019 and a 1-round TKO win over Ricardo Lamas in June 2019 at UFC 238 – Cejudo vs. Moraes. At the moment the American fighter is 12-2-0 in his last fourteen fights.
As for the event, UFC 248 goes down on March 7, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. So far, no main event has been linked to the card yet.
