Heavyweights Blagoy Ivanov, currently ranked No. 11, and number thirteen ranked Augusto Sakai will meet on May 9, 2020. According to Combate, their bout will take place on the UFC 250 card in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
33-year-old Blagoy Ivanov will be fighting for the first time since UFC 244 – Masvidal vs. Diaz in November 2019, when he suffered a loss to Derrick Lewis (United States) by split decision. The loss snapped his two-fight winning streak and dropped his professional record to 18 wins 3 losses and 0 draws (2-2-0 UFC).
Meanwhile, Augusto Sakai’s record currently stands at 14 wins, 1 losses and 1 draws (3-0-0 UFC | 4-1-1 Bellator). The 28-year-old Brazilian will look to extend his winning streak to six bouts in a row. Sakai last fought on September 14, 2019, defeating Polish Marcin Tybura by a 1-round knockout.
